about

This collection of recordings from 2004 is part of a preservation and dissemination effort chronicling four nights of improvisational fire music and poetry in Tucson.

May 1 - House party session (partial recording on tape)
May 2 - Hotel Congress (partial recording on tape)
May 3 - Club La Nuit
May 7 - Mat Bevel Institute (full digital recording)

Two of the venues no longer exist.
One of the musicians is believed to be dead and another lives in whereabouts unknown.
The recording from Club La Nuit was lost.
The lineup was:
George Haslam : baritone sax, tarogato
Lou and Michael Golden: reeds, keys, percussion, electronics
Glenn Weyant: tenor sax, found objects
The poets heard during the sets are unknown.
Flyer/poster images from each night are included with the download and the only known photograph taken during any of the performances.
Any additional information about these sessions would be greatly appreciated and will be used to update this site as applicable.
This download is being sold for $1 to cover the costs of hosting.
