A collection of original unedited audio and image recordings made by Glenn Weyant on May 9, 2006 in the Sonoran Desert borderlands --- Arizona,US and Sonora, MEX.
The 15 digital audio recordings heard here were made with a Schaller Oyster contact mic, DOD Compression/Sustain pedal and Sony IC Recorder would eventually become The Anta Project.
These recordings of the internal soundscape of border walls, fences, shrines and other objects in both their natural states and percussed, bowed or manipulated in some way, can no longer be made as the objects themselves --- non-bifurcated borderlands, simple walls and fences, etc. --- no longer exist.
At the time the session was simply called: BORDER TRIP and was filed away on a forgotten hard-drive.
All 64 images from this day documenting imperfectly some of the events along with one short film clip are included in the bonus material as part of the download.
Caveat Emptor: It was 2006 and I was still working with tape and film. Digital gear was prohibitively expensive but it was possible for the first time to work cheaply without tape.
The digital material contained in this release is a purely guerrilla artistic endeavor and has been unedited other than curation for historical and enjoyment purposes.
