One day at a home which had recently been vacated by the owners, there was a garage sale.
Walking among the items a hand-made jar --- not unlike a cookie jar --- caught my eye.
Around the girth of the jar were the words: This Jar Does Contain Dope.
Did the jar contain weed?
Perhaps the ashes of a loved one (or not so loved one)?
Curious, I asked the woman selling the item what the words referred to.
"I've no idea," she said. "These things weren't mine. But I was wondering who would buy it."
I gave the woman $5 and brought the jar home.
It was empty but I like it anyway, despite the false advertising.
The song --- This Jar Does Contain Dope --- is a work for cello, electronics and field recordings and dedicated to the mysterious dope this jar once contained.
Headphones are highly suggested for optimal enjoyment.
