about

On September 1, 2017 the United States Border Wall in Sasabe, Arizona was struck 96 times --- one time to honor the life of every man, woman and child who died because of border militarization in Southern Arizona since the first of the year.
~
This performance was an annual realization of the score Until There Are No More Deaths --- an original percussion piece written for border walls wherever they exist.
~
The work was preformed by members of The Ambos Project --- Percussion: Tanya Aguiñiga, Diana Ryoo, Natalie Godinez and Cecilia Brawley; Reader: Jackie Amezquita --- and Glenn Weyant.
~
The name or identification of each man, woman and child who was known to have died while migrating to The United States in 2017 through September 1 was read and the wall struck one time in their honor.
~
As of September 15, 2017 the number of migrant deaths has risen to 102 according to the Humane Borders database: www.humaneborders.info/app/map.asp
~
In addition to the 2017 audio, the download also includes a PDF of the Until There Are No More Deaths score and audio/video from previous performances.
~
There is no charge for this download.
~
However, if this work resonates kindly consider donating to a borderland humanitarian organization of your choosing.

Because of this recordings subtle nuances it is recommended you use headphones or earbuds and forego experiencing this work via a crappy mobile phone speaker.
