there are so many sounds - an infinite number - within every slice of terrestrial space - what is heard is often known - when the sound is unknown the possibilities are equally endless - and yet the unknown sounds / the new forms are often whittled down from an infinite number into the most narrow slice of what could be - mic placement, gain, EQ, mix down : these all come between the sound that is and what we expect to hear - the final version too reverses those dynamics via the listeners decisions - when to play, how long to play, in what order to play etc. - so therefore commodity is reciprocal in the exchange of sound for other essential items -- more sound, food, clothing, shelter -- and this was the energy behind what you will hear on * time flies sound walks. thank you for listening.
